Liquitex Professional Black Gesso is suitable as a primer for acrylic and oil paints, colored pencils, lead pencils, graphite pencils, as well as pastels and oil pastels. You can prime canvas, cardboard, paper, wood, or other non-oily and porous materials.

Liquitex Colored Gesso Black is a premium black-tinted gesso suitable for priming painting surfaces for both acrylic and oil painting. Priming the painting surface black creates stunning contrasts and brings out the shades of white in an unprecedented way. Liquitex Colored Gesso does not yellow, is flexible, non-cracking, and provides a gripping surface for paints on wood, paper, and canvas surfaces.

Usage:

Use undiluted or thin the gesso with a maximum of 25% water. If you thin the black gesso with more than 25% water, use an equal amount of Liquitex Matte Medium (50/50) for thinning. You can tint the black gesso with Liquitex Heavy Body Artist Colors. One coat of primer is sufficient.
