Additive for acrylic paints that does not contain an acrylic binder.

On non-absorbent surfaces, it increases paint flow, extends drying time, and smooths brush strokes.

On absorbent surfaces (such as paper and untreated canvas), it enhances paint absorption, staining, and watercolor-like effects. It reduces the surface tension and friction of the paint. Can be used with any acrylic paint or acrylic medium.

Also suitable for watercolor-like techniques, where the color bleeds into adjacent colors like watercolor, and for thin, watercolor-like layers.

Note! Use very sparingly, mixed with acrylic thinning water or medium. Read the instructions below.

Instructions:

  • Mix Flow Aid additive with acrylic thinning water at a ratio of 1 part Flow Aid to 20 parts water (1:20). If you want a more concentrated mixture, you can also mix it at a ratio of 1:10. Add this mixture to paint or medium at a maximum of 25%. Mix slowly into the paint to avoid foaming. If foam appears, let it stand until it dissipates.
  • The mixture can also be applied to the surface, and acrylic ink can be dropped onto it.
  • If you use Flow Aid directly in the paint as is, the paint layers will become fragile and may crack, and water resistance cannot be guaranteed.
  • If you add more than 25% Flow Aid to the thinning water or medium, the paint layer may shrink and crack, as Flow Aid does not contain an acrylic binder.
