Gamblin Ground

A thick primer for oil paints. Suitable for painting on panels, but requires PVA Size underneath when used on canvas. Gamblin Ground provides a brighter and less absorbent surface for oil painting. Colors also retain their saturation better on Ground than on gesso. Can be applied over gesso if needed. Made from alkyd, titanium dioxide, and calcium carbonate. Gamblin Ground is thicker than acrylic gesso and therefore requires a different application technique.
